From April 09 Debt Relief Orders are now an option for clients to consider. Following intense training HWRA can now confirm that we have several skilled debt advisers who are approved Intermediaries and can assess and assist potential DRO candidates.
DEBT ADVICE
Advisers help clients resolve debt related problems (other than most business debts) that they may face. These include:
Mortgage arrears and repossession
Arrears on essential services
Inability to repay credit or loans
Council Tax and
Rent difficulties
Debts are prioritised, income is maximized, and a financial statement showing income and essential expenses is agreed with the client. A plan for resolving debts is then prepared in close consultation with the client.
Resolution of debt problems can be complex and require extensive long-term work. Advisers may also be able to assist with court appearances. Advice is provided at repossession hearings at Harlow County Court.
