Parking for People with Disabilities

The Blue and Green Badge schemes cover drivers or passengers who need to park in special places reserved for people with severe walking difficulties.

Essex County Council Social Services Department (0845 603 7630) issues Blue Badges to people with long-term disabilities. You can get further information and also apply online on the Essex County Council website at: www.essexcc.gov.uk/bluebadges

You can also get the application form from the Contact Centre (01279 446655) but it will have to be returned to Essex County Council for processing.

Harlow Council (01279 446655) issues Green Badges, which last for 3 months, to people with temporary disabilities e.g. a broken bone or recovering from a serious illness or operation. You will need to provide a doctor's letter confirming you need a Green Badge. .

You should also ask Harlow Council how to get a disabled parking space marked outside your home. Ring Contact Harlow (01279 446655).
